Operation Jubilee, 21st & 22nd February @ EAG Worthing

Only a week to go, really looking forward to this now. We'll be running some games this weekend similar to the excersise so that I can get timings right, but apart from that we all look set to go.

Got a stinking cold (man flu) but me and Fred will be over tomorrow!

i'm going tomorrow, giving my german loadout it's first airing. Be good to meet up with some local CIA'ers.

I cant wear my dad's medals, for one he wouldnt let me, two he was Allied and 3 he was a matlow, on HMS Tuscan, and I get sea sick if the bath's too deep. Make sure they're well stiched on Fred, I wouldnt like to loose a repro medal out there, let alone a real one. Will be a good warm up for jubilee, tomorrow and the forecast is mild and dry for a change. I'll be there bright and early and have the kettle on as per usual

Same for me, my old man was a radio operator on Lancs for the last 9 months of the war. He'd have had a b*****y fit if he'd known I was dressing up as a german panzer grenadier. See you guys tomorrow.

My old man's 90 this year and was with the Royal corps of signals.He was evacuated from Dunkirk and ended up in Hamburg in 45.He's never had a problem with me doing Waffen SS.It's because of the stuff he brought back from Germany that got me interested in the Axis side of things.

what stuff did he bring back and do you have any of it ?

Yeah.I have a High seas war fleet badge,Auxilliary cruiser badge,U-Boat war badge(de-nazified ) Tank battle badge,Reichspost armband,German air defence armband 1st and second pattern,party badge and a shed load of stamps.I found them in an Old Spice gift box in his wardrobe when i was a kid.

I was talking to my dad today, telling him about the game and the scenario. Before the war he trained as a chef in London, upon joining the Navy he told them he was a trained chef, so they put him on radar! (Typical) He remembers vividly the Dieppe raid and it's consequences, the information that was learned from the raid was sufficient to expose the Greman radar as inferior to ours at the time.
Everything is in place for this to be a cracking game and dare I say it, the weather forecast is looking like it's going to be kind to us. I went to cash and carry today and stocked up supplies and I'm on site tomorrow with a couple of the lads, to make sure everything is in place.

Thinking as I'm going to be organising the gameplay, more than actually playing that I'll strut around in my new "Major Konig" jacket, rather than my regular frontschwein loadout. That and my leather greatcoat for the evening game when I'm the priority target

More Allies to shoot

Numbers stand between 20 and 25 I think. Some friends have said they are going to turn up and support the Allied team, but I haven't taken deposits from them, so I'm just hoping they turn up! I'll be on site from about 8 ish
